Maybe you haven't been here in a while. God knows that *I* haven't. Maybe it's because I haven't updated this sucka in over a year. Has it really been that long? Wow, the last year of my life was crazy. I've been in over my head, but I'm starting to come up for air. I'm in DC now, hanging out and laying low for a while. Sometimes it's easier to be a myth than it is to be an actual person. And for the first time in a while, I've been trying to embrace that "human" concept that has elluded me for so long. But I miss playing music.
That's not to say that I haven't been playing music. Actually, I've got a few shows coming up. I'd really love to see some people come out. There is more to come, but I can't give it all up right away, you know?

Hey friends. I'm playing a show tomorrow night at Northsix in Brooklyn. This is the last show I'll be playing in NYC for a little while since I am moving to Washington DC in a week, so it's a pretty important show to me and I'd really love to see as many people as I can before I leave. Also playing are some awesome friends of mine from Philly called True If Destroyed and Puppies from NYC.
Come out, show your support, and bid me a fun farewell to this beautiful city. I think I'm playing first...

I'm back from tour. It was awesome. I managed to break a karaoke machine, sneak my way on to a tour bus, jump out of a moving vehicle, vomit up blood, fall in love, and become a parody of myself. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way. I'm pretty damn lucky.
The Rachel Jacobs / Liza Kate split 7 inch is finally OUT on Exotic Fever Records!!! The first 100 are on clear orange vinyl, so order one while you can. They look pretty hot. It feels good to finally be immortalized on vinyl. Also, my new EP "Friend Overseas" will be out in a few mere days. There is a CD version as well as a 7 inch version. You can order those from me too, or from Art Of The Underground. (**lyrics to both records were added - 7/12/05**)
I also have a song coming out on the HIPS benefit compilation on Exotic Fever later on this summer. The song is called "Teething Tykes." The comp also includes exclusive songs by Mirah, Mates Of State, Murder By Death, Fated Fury, Ben Davis, Delta Dart, Bellafea, and lots of others.
I have some more shows coming up this summer. Check them out. There are big plans for the fall, but I'll reveal those later.

I'm on tour with Lemuria right now! Come out to a show and say hi. I have some t-shirts for sale with an octopus on them as well as two new releases that I'll have mid-way through the tour (you can pre-order my EP from me at shows and we'll give you a cd-r to tide you over for a couple of weeks). Also, Alex and Jay from Lemuria will be playing with me on some of my songs. We still need help in a few cities, so if you have any ideas, email me. I am planning a month long tour of the east coast, midwest, and south from May 15th - June 18th with some friends of mine from Buffalo, NY called Lemuria. We are starting our booking now, so email me if you can help with a show or want us to play your town!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! I put up a new mp3 for my song "Collectible Mugs" from my upcoming EP on Art Of The Underground on the audio page. I got restless and couldn't wait. You can only play it on the website because it hasn't been mastered yet (that also means that the sound quality is not that great), but as soon as it is mastered, I will make it downloadable to all! Until then, ENJOY! The record should be out (hopefully) sometime in March. I'm just waiting on the artwork, which my amazingly talented friend Drew Speziale is doing. So yes, it will be worth the wait. Check out some of his artwork here.
The split 7 inch with Liza is on its way too. Again, waiting on the artwork.
My new band FATED FURY recorded a song! Check out a clip of it here. We plan on playing shows in the fall.

I have lots of plans for 2005 including recording a new full length and touring indefinitely. I have the feeling that this is going to be a good year.
My heart goes out to everyone in Southeast Asia who was hurt by the tsunami. I hope that all of my friends over there are ok. I really don't even know the words to use to express how sad it makes me.

Hey everyone! I am back from my trip to Indonesia and Singapore. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, probably the coolest thing I've ever done in my life. I learned so much while I was over there, made so many new friends who I hope to see again, played some awesome shows, ate a lot of delicious food (and drank my share of Tehbotol), explored new cities, learned about new cultures, and even got to ride a Vespa!
Thanks so much to Ari (he's the best), Eka, Lioni, Mirna, Trent, Jam, Faisal and Liza, Selen, Irfan at the DIY Store, everyone at the Common Room, Toko Buku, Susan at the IF Venue, Ruang Ripa, the Aksara Bookstore, and the Ignite Store. Not to mention everyone who came out to my shows, drove us around, and helped to take care of me when I was sick.
Most importantly, thanks to Alex Kerns (who runs Art Of The Underground) for being the best travelling companion I could possibly ask for, setting up the entire tour for me, taking care of my sick ass, and giving me his hoodie whenever I was cold. Without him, none of this would have been possible. (And I would have frozen to death on the plane ride home.)
When I get some free time, I plan to post some pictures to my site and also maybe a tour journal. (If anyone has any pictures, please email them to me.) Until then, I leave you with a couple of photos of Ari, Alex, and I.
